Stachelberg formed part of the border fortifications against Hitler's Germany. It was started to built in October 1937 as the largest Czechoslovak artillery fort and one of the largest fortress of its kind worldwide. Its construction was interrupted Munich Agreement and the resignation frontier to Germany in October 1938. He had to have 12 facilities (bunkers) associated extensive underground.
